What is your research focused on now, and where do you see it going in the future?
Currently, I work for a private health care research company called Clinical Outcomes Solutions. As a research scientist for COS, I work in a variety of disease areas to provide research insights that center the patient voice. I enjoy working directly with patients and their caregivers to better understand their everyday experiences and the types of treatment outcomes that will be meaningful to them. In the future, I hope to continue working in health-focused research that has direct impacts for individuals and communities, continuing to learn from my colleagues and the participants who share their stories with us.
What did you learn during your time at FRC as a postdoctoral research associate?
As a postdoctoral research associate at FRC, I had a wide variety of opportunities that built my skills in research, evaluation, teaching, and team management. In particular, I had the opportunity to work with a lot of really excellent qualitative researchers and build my qualitative interviewing and analysis skills. I also learned a lot about the iterative cycles of program evaluation and development by working with the FRC team on the SPROUTS curriculum.
What are your activities and interests outside of work?
I am a self-proclaimed "foodie" (probably no surprise I ended up at FRC, since there is no shortage of folks who love to talk about food!). I enjoy visiting new restaurants around Chicago with my husband, or cooking different foods at home. I love learning about people, places, and communities via the food that they share with you.
