FRC takes a strengths-based approach to positive development with an ultimate goal of optimizing well-being. One domain of practices – mindfulness and mindful movement – focuses on attending to the present moment intentionally without distraction, judgment, reactivity, or impulsivity. These practices are low-cost, scalable, and sustainable on individual, family, and collective (e.g., classroom, service agency, community organization) levels. Among other strategies, we promote mindfulness by disseminating and translating study findings into practical, real-world strategies so families, children, youth, and communities can optimize their well-being.
